LUTZ SURGICAL PARTNERS SELECTS MD CODER 10 TO AUTOMATE PATIENT CHARGE CAPTURE AT 13 INPATIENT FACILITIES

August 15, 2016

MDTech today announced that Lutz Surgical Partners has implemented the company’s MD Coder 10 Mobile Charge Capture product for its entire organization that deliver care at 8 inpatient facilities around Tampa and is scheduled for an additional 5 facilities in the Phoenix, Arizona vicinity. The entire organization is live on MD Coder after a 90-day implementation period. “This implementation had a very unique set of requirements. We have gone live with 8 inpatient facilities in Florida in less than 90-days while preparing to integrate into an additional 5 facilities in Arizona. On top of the multiple-inpatient concurrent feeds that we are supporting, half-way through the implementation Lutz Surgical selected a new Practice Management Company, CollaborateMD that we also had to integrate with. Lutz Surgical Partners is a terrific client and demonstrated the leadership and leverage needed to accomplish such a system implementation and integration. They also should be commended on taking an outdated and very costly process and automating it with our MD Coder Mobile Charge Capture product,” said Damon Spiegel, Founder and CEO of Medical Design Technologies.

When Lutz Surgical did an evaluation of their internal functions and processes it was realized that they were losing out on revenue with missing face-sheets. There was no way to calculate the exact lost but after enough internal audits and comparative analysis it appears that over 10% of revenue was lost on an annual basis. “When looking at our various options to address this problem, we had a few specific goals to achieve. Anything less would have been a failure. To increase revenue and to decrease associated administrative costs with our billing and collection efforts” said Dr. Desai, CEO of Lutz Surgical Partners.

Lutz Surgical Partners looked at several companies in depth and selected MD Coder “for its ability to quickly and cost effectively integrate with multiple health systems, a product that would provide an easy transition to ICD-10, provide a real-time and accurate rounding list for each of the facilities that they round at, and provide them an integrated and secure messaging platform to exchange patient information between the Physicians, the back office and the patients themselves. The MDTech team was willing to do all the legwork to get our customization up and running. Our overall experience from implementation, integration and training was outstanding,” said Dr. Desai.
